With revised dimensions and a new inner life, the GROSSE LANGE 1 shows true size. A newly developed movement allows the harmonious dial arrangement of the LANGE 1 to be transferred to the larger model and at the same time allows for a flatter construction.
Since its premiere in 1994, LANGE 1 is the face of A. Lange & Söhne. With a special combination of traditional elements of Saxon watchmaking art, such as the triple tabletop, the screwed gold chronometers or the screw nut, and pioneering innovations such as the decentral dial design and the ingenious long grand date, their appearance ensures a worldwide look. Soon, the LANGE 1 becomes the award-winning icon in the world's finest mechanical timepieces and writes itself clock history. In addition, she stands for the efficiency of Lange's master watchmakers and for her unceasing pursuit of the perfect watch. 18 years after its premiere, the LANGE 1 is not only the strong base of a successful watch family.
This is especially true when the novelty of the own model family belongs, like the new GROSSE LANGE 1. It is characterized by clearly revised proportions and a minutely coordinated inner life. The newly developed manual lifting caliber L095.1 makes it possible through a corresponding arrangement of the components to transfer the balanced dial architecture of the LANGE 1 to the larger dimensioned model. The displays for hour, minute, second, grand date and gear reserve are placed on the solid silver dial without overlapping. In order to preserve the harmonious proportions down to the last detail, the long grand date grew to the same extent as the dial.
The larger work diameter also allowed more parts to be placed on one level and thus a work height of only 4.7 millimeters. The considerable course duration of 72 hours was achieved with a spring house saving space. This has an impact on the dimensions of the yellow gold, red gold or platinum housing: with a diameter of 40.9 millimeters it is only 8.8 millimeters high, providing a perfectly balanced ratio of width and height.
The sapphire glass floor shows the elaborately hand-decorated and double-mounted work in all its perfection. The triple-platter made of natural nickel silver, which is equipped with a glash-nut band grinding, gives the factory optimal stability. Its curved shape provides a clear view of the oscillating oscillating oscillator, which is oscillated by a hand-engraved balance cock, which oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour.
